So you want to lose weight and do it by watching your carbohydrate consumption. So how do you start out on the right path? Get your facts and thoughts straight and decide your best plan of attack.
Write things down and follow a plan. Don’t shoot from the hip or go fly by night.
These 5 Steps will help you get started on a quality low carb diet.
1.) - Educate Yourself
Read as much as you can about the different diets that are out there. After researching them, pick one and start researching as much about that diet as you can. Know what you can eat, what you can’t eat and when you are and aren’t supposed to eat certain things.
2.) - Go With What’s Easy At First
Start slow and work your way into a full-fledged diet plan. Don’t go cold turkey and totally reduce your carb intake from day one. Totally knocking most of the carbs out of your diet can slow down your progress and block your pursuit of the results you want. Develop and follow a plan…slowly!
3.) - Choose a particular plan and stick to it!
There are plenty of options out there. Although the different diets follow the same principals for the most part, there can be different foods and amounts of food involved. Again, do your research and come up with what you feel is best for you. Not only with the intensiveness of the diet, but with the tastes of the food as well. One specific example of this would be the “no white diet”, which is basically when you stop eating food with white flour, sugars, white rice, and potatoes.
4.) - Clearly Know What You Can Eat
Regardless, don’t shoot from the hip. Develop your plan and stick with it. You’ll have much better results if you know exactly what you can and cannot eat. Take the guesswork out and let your research dictate your path.
5.) - The First Week Is The Most Important
Nothing is worse than getting to the middle of your 1st week on your low carb diet and not having a clue about what you can and can’t snack on or what you’re going to have for breakfast the next day. Take a some of your time on the weekend and plan out the week’s meals…all of them. This will only make your pursuit of weight loss and will give you something to abide by during the hectic and busy week days.
No matter how much you plan, you the dieter still have to make it happen. If you plan things out and get through the first few weeks, you should be good to go. The temptations are tough! In order to reach the levels of success that you expect yourself to reach, research things, plan things out, and then allow your willpower to take over!
